One of the most tempting foods of all time, pasta is something you can alter like anything. You can make it the way you want to. It can be your relief when you are in despair; it can be your first culinary experience when you have invited your dream date to have dinner with you at your place, or it can even be the favorite dish of your children who just can’t have enough of it.
Making pasta at home is no rocket science. In fact, homemade pasta can taste better than specialty restaurants. An easy-to-make-at-home pasta recipe for you:
Take 1 cup of plain flour, 1 egg, 1 tbsp. olive oil, 1 tbsp. water, and one-fourth tbsp. of salt. Now, put all these into a big bowl and mix to make dough. The dough should not be too dry or too sticky. Shape the dough like a ball and spread a wet cloth onto it so as to envelop it.
Roll out the dough (only 1/3rd of it at the first time), with a rolling pin and put it in the pasta machine. Let it travel through the pasta machine for three consecutive times. While it travels through the machine, keep turning and folding it. Now, set the pasta machine to the next setting, and repeat the previous process. Then, again set it to the next setting, and repeat the process. Do this for all the settings of the machine. You will have sumptuous looking pasta at the end.
Now it is time to dry out the pasta. Place the rolled sheet on tablecloth and keep the strands away from each other. Leave it for an hour. After it is dry, your pasta is ready to cook. Pour water into a large bowl and boil it for some time, then add the pasta with just 1tbsp. of salt, let it be there for 2-3 minutes, stir occasionally, and voila! You have just made tasty pasta at home.
